Game Theory: FNAF, The Clue that SOLVES Five Nights at Freddy's!

I feel like this theory was totally correct and then Scott panicked and made 5 more games to prove Matt wrong.

Matpat: "today, we solve FNAF!"

Matpat: “their height being different is a bit of a stretch”

I personally think that scott cawthon really intended for this theory to be the true ending to the franchise but then saw how anti-climactic it was and changed it with his later games/books

It’s so crazy to think Scott said that Matt was almost 100% right about his original fnaf 2 theory, and yet here we are

Despite this being completely disproved, this is actually still my favorite FNaF theory.

Fun drinking game: rewatch all Matt’s fnaf theories and take a shot every time he says “today we solve fnaf.”

Theory, Scott Cawthon doesn't know wtf he's doing and is just going along with whatever MatPat says.

you cannot convince me that this wasn't the solution scott intended, at least for the first four games. literally EVERYTHING fits together so cleanly. EVERY detail feels so purposefully directed toward a dream theory.

I love how everyone pretty much accepted that this was actually canon and that Scott panicked and changed it due to potential backlash

I genuinely do believe that this was the true direction of the story. But after the reception of the discovery, Scott decided to retcon the idea and Sister Location was a way to continue the story and fill in the gaps that the dream theory left.

The real tragedy of this whole series is that in this theory that child had to get up at 6am

At this point I’m willing to make a bet Scott doesn’t even know the story and is just mentally processing what people are thinking

I feel like this was the original plan but due to feedback Scott changed it

this theory is my favorite, even though it's now considered "wrong". I'm glad we're all on the same page and agree that this theory worked entirely until Scott decided to take FNaF into an entirely different direction

It's so funny how of all the FNAF theories matpat has made, the "it was actually all a dream", theory is the most viewed one lmao

Life was so much easier coming home from a long day at school and realizing that matpat posted and sitting down to enjoy the new Five Nights at Freddy's theory

This whole series is just MatPat and Scott reverse carding each other.

Honestly if you look at it now, this theory still kind of holds water, especially as we learn that the games up until help wanted are canon in the world of help wanted. Perhaps we're playing the dreams of the developer realized, games made by a developer plagued by nightmares as a kid fueled by horror stories of his local pizzeria...
